May 22, 2012, Women's Campgain for Peace and Constitution, planned a rally from Koteswor and would sit in front of ICC Hall for demanding the right of women in upcoming constitution.
There were about 20 women gathered from various organizations as usual. The today's agitators who belong with Janjati or caller of 3 days strike, came and asked for out from there immediately.
Women human right activist including Ms. Radha Paudel, President, Action Works Nepal, tried to explain the goal of the campaign. But, these boys came and rounded to 20 women activist and threaten to go out immediately otherwise they will invite many boys and will beat them. They also challenge that this area is belong with them not for the women activist, women activist are spy and vigilante for their movement so making protest them. They also seized the banner of women and verbally abused.
Thus, these women's right violent today at the name of the protestors.
Women activist and women human right defenders are taking it serious violence of human right of women and condemned against it.
Later, women sit in protest in ICC hall, next to the Civil hospital. There are women from the WHRD networks, Action Works Nepal,WOREC, Mahila Ekta Samaj etc.
