Being a Human Right organization, AWON also involved in the meeting with European Union in May 11, 2012 along with Mahila Ekta Samaj, President of NWHRD, Lumanti, AAN's representative
There were two allegations observed by Media to the Squatters;
1. verification of the real squatters
2. disagree to settle in outside of Kathmandu.
The squatters disagree with this allegations.
The all human right activists including squatters made following discussions;
1. government never made written agreement what is shown in media
2. government should consult squatters for each process
3. government should follow the guideline of UN for squatter's eviction
4. Response for the humanitarian crisis because there is crisis for food, shelter and possibly outbreak of epidemic such as diarrhea, pneumonia, conjunctivitis
5.long term plan for rehabilitation or proceed with alternatives
